The Three Musketeers
Adapted from Alexandre Dumas' novel, by Linda Alper, Douglas Langworthy, and Penny Metropulos
Directed by Carolyn Howarth
It’s a classic in every sense of the word—the story of inseparable friends who live by the motto, "One for all, and all for one." Flashing swords and plumed hats flying, these men live for their king, the women who adore them, and brotherhood. Director Carolyn Howarth says, “The adaptation we’re using beautifully renders the romance, the swashbuckling, the piratical element, the spectacle—and the humor! I think the show will be an absolute lark to experience.” Children ages eight through eighty will enjoy it.
The play was adapted for the stage by Linda Alper, Douglas Langworthy and Penny Metropulos from the 1844 serialized novel by the Frenchman Alexandre Dumas. This adaptation was first produced at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in 1999. CSF brings you this glorious romantic play as part of our commitment to extend our work to other writers, other times, other cultures.
